Let's shift focus to content that not only captures attention but moves the needle. We are going to keep your strategy on track but also throw in some holiday magic into your marketing efforts. Whether this is your 10th Q4 or just starting out, here are some content ideas to add into your planning.
Content Ideas
Cause-Related Offers - Commit to donating a portion of every sale to a charity/cause and encourage customers to contribute at checkout.
Behind-the-Scenes Content - Use live streaming to give a peek into your daily operations, highlighting special holiday preparations or live customer service interactions.
Personalized Perks or VIP Rewards - Offer custom perks or rewards based on customer data (past purchases or preferences).
Promote a Free Resource - Share an interactive tools such as holiday planners or budget calculators (or simple spreadsheet) that add value to your audience. (Have you already checked out my free resources?)
Update Your Why - Update your brand story with new insights or changes in your business, still supporting your mission and recent achievements.
Countdown Campaign - Use countdown clocks and sneak peeks to build excitement for upcoming deals or highlighting different products or services each day. On the flip side, you can also promote Early Bird offers.
Inspire - Share real-life stories of how your business or customers contribute to the community through user-generated content.
Bundles - Offer special holiday bundles or gift sets that combine popular products at a discounted rate. This works for service-based businesses too.
Gift Guides - Curate holiday gift guides that cater to different customer segments. Include your products or services alongside special offers from (local) partners.
Virtual or In-Person Event - Host or sponsor community events that align with your brand values to strengthen local connections and enhance brand visibility. This could be the in-person version of the Gift Guide.
End of Year Reflection - Share some numbers - how did your clients/customers impact your business? Share your team's reflections on the year.
Thank You Notes - This is kind of a given, right? Send personalized thank you cards or emails to your customers, expressing gratitude and offering a special discount for future purchases.
Each of these macro ideas can be broken up into small pieces of content. Think about how you can spotlight your favorite cause over the next year. Why not share a picture of your team supporting this cause at a community event? Humans connect with humans, and we want you and your people upfront.
A Few More Tips
Watch Your Budget: Advertising costs can quickly add up. Focus on leveraging long-tail keywords for more cost-effective campaigns.
Engagement is Imperative: Keep the conversations going. Build a vibrant community that resonates with your brand—yes, this goes for B2B companies, service-based brands, and YOU as an entreprenuer as well!
Content is Your Asset
Invest time, or if you're stretched thin, bring in some extra hands to help craft compelling content. And if you’re a content creator, consider offering your services on a gig basis. There’s always someone out there who could benefit from your expertise.
